New Irving DART station opening next week

The station will serve the planned Hidden Ridge development.

A new DART station will open in Irving next week.

The Hidden Ridge station — between the North Lake College and Irving Convention Center stations — will begin service along the Orange Line on Monday, April 12.

Developed in a partnership between the city of Irving, DART and Verizon Communications, the new station will serve the planned 110-acre mixed-use Hidden Ridge development, which is an expansion of Verizon’s corporate campus and will eventually include retail, restaurants, apartments, a hotel and office space.

Hidden Ridge Station is on Carpenter Ranch, once the homestead of Las Colinas founder Ben Carpenter. The station’s art and design reflects the land’s history, DART said on its website. It features the work of Marty Ray, a ceramic artist, who retired from Dallas College North Lake Campus in 2017.

Riders will be able to connect from Hidden Ridge to nearby developments, including the Toyota Music Factory, the Las Colinas Urban Center and Water Street, and can hop on for a 15-minute ride to the DFW Airport, according to DART. The station has a 136-space parking lot and space for dropping off or picking up passengers.

DART plans to host a virtual grand opening at 2 p.m. Friday.
