Wednesday morning traffic on a portion of U.S. 75 in Dallas was delayed more than usual after an 18-wheeler crashed and ended up hanging from a bridge, according to officials.
The crash occurred shortly before 5 a.m. along U.S. 75 and Interstate 345 near Live Oak Street, according to a Texas Department of Transportation incident report.
As of about 8:30 a.m. the right lane of traffic was closed as Dallas County deputies investigated the crash. The area of Live Oak Street beneath the bridge also was closed.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to a hospital, according to the sheriff’s office. The extent of the driver’s injuries was not immediately clear.

Additional details on the crash were not immediately released.
Officials have not said if they believe weather played a role in the crash but storms poured heavy rain on parts of North Texas, including Dallas, early Wednesday.
