FAA: 2 injured after engine mishap causes small plane to crash into tree in Denton County

The injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.

Two people were hospitalized Friday after a small plane crashed into a tree in Denton County, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane, a Boeing Stearman E75, experienced engine issues during takeoff and attempted to return to the Bar V K Airport in Bolivar when it struck the tree, the FAA report said.

The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. and the pilot and passenger were injured. The injuries were listed as minor.
