Chance of rain to the south of DFW

Your forecast from the NBC 5 Weather Experts

A storm system will pass south of DFW today, spreading showers across Central and Southern Texas. Here in North Texas, the chance of rain will remain quite low and generally south of the metroplex. The sky will be mostly cloudy to partly sunny as temperatures climb into the low 60s.

As the chance of rain passes by to the south today, there will be another low chance by Wednesday. These meager rain chances will do little to help the drought situation, which has reemerged to the severe category.

Temperatures will take a dip after today as a cold front arrives Tuesday and a reinforcement of chilly air Wednesday. Temperatures will rebound, however, for the weekend.
