A flash flood warning was in effect for several counties in North Texas on Tuesday morning.
At 8:53 a.m., the National Weather Service issued an alert for Collin, Dallas, Denton, northwestern Kaufman, Rockwall, Tarrant and eastern Wise counties through 11 a.m. The weather service said 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen and more downpours are expected.
The alert followed a round of severe storms that pummeled the Dallas-Fort Worth area early Tuesday, bringing hail and damaging winds.
