Dallas-Fort Worth to see cloudy skies; air quality alert issued

Temperatures will warm into the lower 90s Friday.

Morning clouds and some fog in Dallas-Fort Worth will cause cloudy skies Friday afternoon as scattered storms are expected primarily in Central Texas, according to the National Weather Service.

After a summer of triple-digit temperatures, Dallas-Fort Worth has dipped to the mid-90s and may see highs in low to mid-80 next week. Rain chances will continue through the weekend and early next week, with one to three inches of rainfall expected and isolated areas receiving higher amounts.

Temperatures will warm into the lower 90s Friday, with light east-southeast winds.

Additionally, the National Weather Service issued an air quality alert as atmospheric conditions may produce high levels of ozone air pollution Friday.

Ground-level ozone can cause “acute respiratory health effects when people breathe high concentrations of it over several hours,” according to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
