Temperatures in Dallas-Fort Worth are expected to be “seasonably hot” by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
High temperatures are going to be in the 90s throughout the week at DFW International Airport with heat index values approaching triple digits, the forecast shows. Lows will be in the 70s.
There is a slight chance for overnight rain in the area but a greater possibility for scattered thunderstorms in the area Friday with a low threat of damaging wind gusts. The threat of rain will linger through the weekend into early next week.
Dallas-Fort Worth was not under any weather warnings or advisories as of Tuesday, though parts of Central Texas were under a heat advisory beginning Tuesday afternoon and severe storms threatened East Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The weather service warned there is an increased threat of flooding throughout the region if additional rainfall occurs because of saturated soils and full reservoirs.
