Dallas County added to federal disaster declaration allowing residents to apply for aid

Affected residents in more than two dozen Texas counties hit by recent storms can apply for the FEMA assistance.

Dallas County residents affected by last week’s severe storms are now eligible to apply for federal disaster aid, officials announced Wednesday.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has been canvassing areas of Texas pounded by tornadoes and storms in recent weeks. The damage caused by the weather prompted a federal disaster declaration and made available FEMA programs designed to help local and state governments with debris removal and infrastructure repairs.
