More Monday heat and humidity; Watching the tropics on Tuesday

Eyeing a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico

Expect a hot and humid start to the week across North Texas. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible to the southeast of DFW on Monday afternoon.

Rain chances return by midweek, as tropical moisture surges into Texas. Regardless of tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico, this tropical disturbance will bring heavy rain to South Texas and the Texas Coast. While the system will stay well south of DFW, it will still bring some scattered showers and thunderstorms to the area, with the best chance for rain arriving Wednesday.
