North Texas weather forecast features warm and muggy days with spotty storms

The forecast from the NBC 5 Weather Experts

A rather stagnant weather pattern this week will keep the chance of rain in the forecast through Saturday, especially to the southeast. An area of low pressure remains nearby, keeping the chance for spotty showers around. Temperatures will continue well below normal for this time of year. (Normal high is 97).

The weekend looks muggy with highs nearing 90 and a slight chance for an isolated shower or storm. Overall though, most outdoor plans shouldn’t be in jeopardy with the rain chance.

A significant change in the weather pattern is set to take place next week. The heat dome, which is currently located over the western United States, will move closer to North Texas next week. That will produce a drier and hotter weather pattern with a return of more typical summer heat.
