A round of showers and thunderstorms rolling through North Texas late this week have a chance to become severe and pose a minor flooding threat, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
Parts of Dallas-Fort Worth could get more than an inch of rain between Thursday and Saturday, according to the weather service. Some surrounding areas could get between 3 and 4 inches.
Some storms could create 1-inch hail and have wind gusts between 50 and 60 mph.
The heaviest rain is expected west of I-35 and north of I-20.
The most updated forecast shows rain chances returning during the day Thursday, increasing Friday, then decreasing again to a minimal amount again Saturday. Sunday will likely be dry.
The weather service warned that outdoor activities these next few days could be impacted.
High temperatures in Dallas-Fort Worth are predicted to be in the low 70s with lows in the mid-to-low 50s.
