NCAA men’s basketball tournament, women’s golf regional coming to D-FW in 2026-27, 2027-28

The NCAA selected sites for its litany of postseason events for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, and both Dallas and Fort Worth were selected.

The NCAA selected the sites for its postseason events for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, choosing 240 locations from more than 1,200 bids.

March Madness is among the postseason tournaments coming to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In 2027, the Division I women’s golf regional is heading to Trinity Forest Golf Club in southern Dallas area and the women’s gymnastics national finals will head to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.

March Madness is also coming to Fort Worth as Dickies Arena will host first- and second-round games for the men’s NCAA basketball tournament. In 2028, the American Airlines Center will host a regional for the men’s NCAA basketball tournament.

“Today is another great example of how big wins happen here with the announcement that Dallas will host the 2028 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional and the 2027 NCAA Women’s Golf Regional,” Monica Paul, executive director of the Dallas Sports Commission, said in a statement. “We are excited to showcase the passion Dallas has for March Madness and elite collegiate athletic events, further solidifying our reputation as both the number one sports business city in the nation and a global sports destination.”

SMU athletic director Rick Hart also weighed in on the news.

“We are thrilled to welcome NCAA Golf to Dallas. We think Trinity Forest and the Payne Stewart SMU Golf Training Center are among the nation’s top courses and facilities,” he said in a statement.

Some other NCAA events will also be coming to the Dallas area. The 2026 and 2027 Division II football finals will be played at McKinney ISD Stadium. Texas has the second-most events with 20, just behind Florida.
