Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know about Dallas’ unrestricted players.

Dallas’ free agents

Offense

Note: The number in (parenthesis) is the player’s age.

Quarterback

Dak Prescott (26): The Cowboys placed the exclusive franchise tag on him, but contract negotiations are ongoing. A source tells The Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins that Dallas has offered Prescott one of the largest contracts in NFL history.

Wide receiver/Tight end

Amari Cooper (25): Cooper agreed to a five-year, $100 million deal to re-sign with the Cowboys. It makes Cooper one of the highest-paid wide receivers at his position. The News’ Michael Gehlken reports that Cooper turned down “significantly" more money from the Redskins to remain in Dallas.

Randall Cobb (29): Cobb agreed to a three-year, $27 million deal with the Texans. Cobb joined Houston on the same day it traded away star receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals for running back David Johnson.

Tavon Austin (29): Unsigned

Jason Witten (37): His football career is going to continue — just not with the Cowboys. The News’ David Moore has confirmed that the longtime Cowboys tight end has agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Note: The Cowboys signed TE Blake Jarwin to a three-year, $24.25 million contract. He was not scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. Jarwin simply could have been retained via a one-year tender as a restricted free agent, keeping him on pace to hit the open market in 2021.

Offensive line

Joe Looney, C/G (29): Looney agreed to rejoin the Cowboys on a one-year contract.

Looney provides versatility and experience as a reserve on the Cowboys’ interior offensive line. He has made 30 career starts, including 16 at center for Travis Frederick in 2018.

Xavier Su’a-Filo, G (29): According to ESPN’s Ben Baby, the Bengals agreed to a three-year, $10 million deal with Su’a-Filo on Wednesday.

Cameron Fleming, T (27): According to The News’ Michael Gehlken, Dallas has declined to pick up Fleming’s $4 million option. He’ll become an unrestricted free agency on Wednesday.

Defensive line

Robert Quinn, DE (29): A source says he agreed to a five-year, $70 million with the Bears. The News’ Michael Gehlken reports the contract is worth $30 million in fully guaranteed money, according to a source. Quinn was Dallas’ sack leader with 11 1/2 in 2019.

Maliek Collins, DT (24): Collins said in a text message to The News’ Michael Gehlken he has agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders. Collins was Dallas’ top interior rusher in 2019. His 48 quarterback pressure ranked third on the team behind Quinn and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, according to Pro Football Focus. Quinn and Lawrence totaled 57 and 57 pressures, respectively.

Dallas drafted Collins in the 2016 third round. Rod Marinelli was the defensive coordinator during all four years of Collins’ team tenure. The pair will reunite now in Las Vegas. Marinelli joined the staff in January as the Raiders’ defensive line coach.

Christian Covington, DT (26): After the draft, Covington reportedly signed a one-year contract with the Denver Broncos worth up to $1.75 million.

Kerry Hyder, DL (28): According to a report, Hyder signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

Michael Bennett, DL (34): Unsigned

Daniel Ross, DT (27): Ross will be another ex-Cowboys player to join the Raiders. He agreed to a one-year deal with Las Vegas, per his agent. Dallas declined to tender as restricted free agent.

Linebackers

Sean Lee (33): He is back for an 11th season. The Cowboys linebacker agreed Tuesday to return on a one-year contract. A source said that Lee’s deal is worth $4.5 million, including $2 million that is fully guaranteed.

Joe Thomas (28): Thomas reached a one-year contract with the Cowboys, a source said. Coach Mike McCarthy and linebackers coach Scott McCurley are among the familiar faces here after he spent four years in Green Bay before joining the Cowboys in 2018.

The 28-year-old is a valuable reserve. He can step in at multiple linebacker positions and be a solid contributor on special teams.

Justin March (26): The Cowboys announced they are finalizing a deal with March.

Malcolm Smith (30): Unsigned

Ray-Ray Armstrong (29): Unsigned

Defensive backs

Byron Jones, CB (27): He reportedly signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Dolphins. The deal includes a $57 million guarantee, which reflects how highly his coverage ability, despite a shortage of turnovers, is regarded around the league. The Raiders and Eagles were among the other teams who displayed serious interest in the 2015 first-round pick.

Anthony Brown, CB (26): Brown agreed to rejoin the Cowboys on a three-year deal.

Brown’s deal is worth up to $15.5 million, a nice haul for the 2016 sixth-round pick. His previous, four-year rookie contract totaled $3.8 million by comparison.

In 2019, Brown ceded his role as nickel cornerback to Jourdan Lewis following a hamstring injury. Brown returned after one game and worked as a reserve. Weeks later, he suffered a season-ending triceps injury.

The 26-year-old has started 34 of 56 career games while totaling 172 tackles, four interceptions and three sacks.

C.J. Goodwin, CB (30): The speediest and most effective member of the Cowboys’ special-teams unit last season agreed Friday to a return.

Goodwin will return to the Cowboys on a one-year deal worth $1 million, per his agent.

Goodwin was the club’s top flyer, running down kicks to record five tackles. That total ranked second on the team behind wide receiver Ventell Bryant’s six.

Goodwin, 30, was more of a cornerback by technicality than trade in 2019. He played 21 snaps on defense compared to 289 on special teams.

Jeff Heath, S (28): Heath agreed to a two-year contract with the Raiders. The deal is worth up to $8 million when including incentives for playing time, his agent Derrick Fox said. Heath will reunite in Las Vegas with former Cowboys special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia and ex-defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli.

Heath also drew interest from the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants. Dallas was not in serious pursuit.

Darian Thompson, S (26): He agreed to a two-year, $2.8 million contract to stay with Dallas. Thompson has spent the last two years with the Cowboys appearing in 25 games. He started four games for Dallas in 2019 combining for 45 tackles and three pass deflections.

During the season, passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Kris Richard said Thompson was a player the team trusted with a starting spot while also calling him “really smart, physical [and] reliable.” The News’ Michael Gehlken wrote a feature on Thompson during the season, which can be read here.

Kavon Frazier, S (25): On the heels of the NFL draft, Frazier’s agent announced he had signed a deal with the Dolphins on April 26.

Special teams

Kai Forbath, K (32): The Cowboys kicker officially became an unrestricted free agent Wednesday at 3 p.m., but within the first hour, a source said that he’ll re-sign with the franchise. The team also had interest in Greg Zuerlein but ultimately was uncomfortable with his price tag. Forbath is a far more affordable option.

The 32-year-old joined the team in December, replacing Brett Maher for the final three games. Forbath offered a less powerful but more consistent leg. He converted all 10 field-goal attempts, including seven from between 40 and 49 yards. Maher, by comparison, went 1-of-5 from that range.

The Cowboys seriously courted Zuerlein this week, too, a source said.

L.P. Ladouceur, LS (39): The Cowboys have agreed to a one-year contract with long snapper L.P. Ladouceur, according to a source. The deal features a $1.05 million salary. Of it, $750,000 is guaranteed. He also receives a $137,500 signing bonus. Ladouceur is back for a 16th season.
