Want to bet against Kyler Murray having success at AT&T Stadium on Monday night against the Cowboys? Do so at your own risk. He’ll be the starting quarterback with the most experience playing at the venue, as well as the most success in those games.
Murray is 6-0 lifetime at AT&T Stadium. The bulk of that success came as a starting QB for Allen during the heart of the Eagles' dynasty in the mid-2010s. Allen won 57 consecutive games during a window between 2012 and 2015. The vast majority of those games were started by Murray, who led the Eagles to three straight state title wins in 2012, 2013 and 2014 before enrolling at Texas A&M upon graduation. All three of those state championships were earned at state title games hosted at AT&T Stadium.
Along with those three state title games, Murray also led Oklahoma to a Big 12 Conference Championship Game win in 2018, meaning that four of his six career games at AT&T Stadium have been with a title on the line. In all four of those games, Murray received Most Outstanding Player/Offensive MVP honors.
There hasn’t been one consistent key to success for Murray when playing at AT&T Stadium, which is roughly 45 miles Southwest of Eagle Stadium in Allen. In Murray’s first career start at the venue, the then-sophomore completed just 7 of 16 passes for 49 total yards. But his legs propelled the Eagles to their second title in school history as he gained 143 yards on the ground. It’s one of the three times he has topped 100 yards on the ground in his six starts at AT&T Stadium.
In the five most recent games at AT&T Stadium, though, it’s been Murray’s arm doing most of the work. He has thrown for 1,475 yards and 19 touchdowns in those five contests, completing 63% of his passes in the process.
