Watch: Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs makes history with late pick-six vs. Patriots

Diggs became the first player in the Super Bowl era to have at least seven interceptions and return multiple pick-sixes in his team’s first six games of the season.

Another Sunday, another Trevon Diggs interception.

The second-year cornerback kept his streak of interceptions in each 2021 game alive and gave the Cowboys a jolt late in the fourth quarter with a 42-yard pick-six against the Patriots. The play brings Diggs’ total to seven interceptions over six games; he began the season with an interception in each of team’s first five games.

His latest pick, however, holds a little more value.

Not only did Digg’s pick-six help Dallas reclaim the lead with a 26-21 advantage, but Sunday’s interception also made Diggs the first player in the Super Bowl era to have at least seven interceptions and return multiple pick-sixes in his team’s first six games of the season.

Diggs also joins Tom Landry (1951), Barry Wilburn (1987) and Brian Russell (2003) as the only players in NFL history to string six straight games with an interception to open the season.
