One day prior, the Cowboys sent a fifth-round pick to Indianapolis for Gilmore’s services.

Dallas will be his fourth team in as many years, but the Cowboys now have another top corner to pair opposite Trevon Diggs. As of now, Gilmore has one year left on his contract, with a $7.9 million base salary and a roster bonus of $1 million due on May 20.

Gilmore has 29 interceptions in 148 career games between New England, Buffalo, Carolina and Indianapolis.

The 32-year-old played 16 games for the Colts last season, finishing with two interceptions and 11 pass breakups. The second of Gilmore’s two All-Pro seasons was with the Patriots in 2019, when he led the NFL with 20 pass breakups and had six interceptions.

Among other new Cowboys, wide receiver Brandin Cooks was assigned No. 3, running back Ronald Jones got No. 32 and offensive lineman Chuma Edoga will wear No. 71.
