Jerry Jones works with ‘Yellowstone’ creator Taylor Sheridan in Cowboys’ schedule reveal

Jones and Sheridan collaborated for a six-minute schedule video, which also included current Cowboys players and all-time greats.

What would you do if Jerry Jones showed up in a horse-drawn stagecoach and handed you keys?

You’d probably be as confused as the valet guys in the Dallas Cowboys’ 2023 schedule reveal video. NFL teams have made a trend of dramatic reveals for their regular season games, and the Cowboys went full-on showbiz with theirs, having the Cowboys’ owner collaborate with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.

How does this happen? Well, Sheridan was sent the Cowboys’ schedule and Jones received the Yellowstone script for season five. The video opened with the scene for dramatic effect, with Sheridan, dawning a cowboy hat, sitting alone in a dark room with a crackling fire and a drink.

Jones and Sheridan have each other’s documents and decide to help each other out. Consider it an early deal, way before the trade deadline.

Cowboys get this well-produced, often funny six-minute video.

Sheridan gets... CeeDee Lamb acting as a true cowboy with a football as a revolver?

Seems fair.

Cowboys players and greats, including Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and even Michael Irvin acted for Sheridan, theoretically for parts Yellowstone’s fifth season.

Michael Gallup’s pitch was the sheer existence of his last name. Makes sense.

Prescott went simple. Maybe he gets a cameo?

Sheridan seemed mostly disappointed with the acting jobs. Cowboys players didn’t seem to mind, their end looked fun.

Probably a long shot for any of them to land a part, but it worked in service of a fun schedule video. The actual schedule being used as the end credits was a nice touch.

And, of course, it ends with Jones handing the keys to confused valet drivers. Do horse-drawn stagecoaches even need keys?
