George Kittle made it personal. At least that’s how Micah Parsons views things.
Kittle added to the Cowboys’ embarrassment Monday morning when he posted a photo to Instagram displaying a profane T-shirt slamming them after San Francisco’s 42-10 win over Dallas Sunday night.
The 49ers tight end caught three touchdowns on three catches in the game, but the post was an insult to injury.
“I just feel like he’s making it way more personal than it had to be,” Parsons said on The Edge Monday. “Kittle’s my guy, but Imma say this. Laugh now, cry later. We got something for that, just trust. If we see them again, just trust.”
The Cowboys’ defense appeared to be one of the best in the league prior to Sunday, but Dallas displayed it was in a class below San Francisco right now. The Cowboys’ offense didn’t provide much optimism, either.
Brock Purdy threw three of his four touchdown passes to Kittle, while San Francisco’s defense hounded Dak Prescott all night.
“Didn’t see it coming,” Prescott said. “Put everything into this, and got punched in the mouth. It was humbling a couple of weeks ago against Arizona. But this may be the most humbling game I’ve ever been a part of.”
The best case for the Parsons, the Cowboys meet the 49ers again in the playoffs and he can earn the trust he spoke of Monday.
Recent history suggests that’s not a good matchup, though. The 49ers knocked the Cowboys out of the previous two postseasons and seemingly widened the gap this year.
Can bulletin board material help?
Parsons added: “You want to make it personal? We can make it personal.”
