Dallas Cowboys to host UFL standout Willie Harvey Jr. for workout Tuesday, report says

The Cowboys have a strong history with players making the jump from spring football to the NFL.

For a few notable names, the jump from spring football to the Cowboys has been a productive one. Dallas could look to strengthen that pipeline this week.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys will host linebacker Willie Harvey Jr. for a workout Tuesday. Harvey was one of the United Football League’s most productive defenders, closing out the 2024 campaign as its leading tackler.

Harvey, who suited up for the St. Louis Battlehawks, finished the season with 76 total tackles, nine tackles for loss and four sacks. He kept himself busy over the past few months, helping the St. Louis team advance to the XFL Conference championship game.

Prior to his UFL stint, Harvey appeared in four games with the Cleveland Browns from 2019-21. Harvey, who originally joined the Browns as an undrafted free agent from Iowa State, was honored as an All-UFL selection last week.

The Cowboys have a strong history with players making the jump from spring football to the NFL. In 2022, the team signed receiver KaVontae Turpin following a campaign where he was named USFL MVP.

The next year, Dallas entrusted its kicking duties to another USFL standout in Brandon Aubrey. Both Turpin and Aubrey were named Pro Bowlers in their NFL rookie seasons.
