Cowboys rookies most likely to contribute this season: No. 3 Marshawn Kneeland

Kneeland will see some playing time this season when DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons need a break.

The Cowboys depart for training camp in Oxnard, Calif., on July 23 with an impressive group of rookies expected to make an impact early in the season. We’re counting down the five rookies who might contribute the most in 2024. Here is No. 3:

Marshawn Kneeland, DE, Western Michigan

What you might not know: Kneeland was a regional champion in the 400 meters and an all-conference champ in the high jump in Michigan.

Outlook: The Cowboys’ top edge rushers are Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence and Sam Williams. Kneeland will see some playing time this season when Lawrence and Parsons need a break. When the Cowboys rush Parsons through the A-gaps, as part of coordinator Mike Zimmer’s scheme, it creates playing time for Kneeland.
