The summer-long wait has ended.
CeeDee Lamb agreed to a new four-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, ending his holdout before the team’s regular-season opener. Before Monday’s development, Lamb had skipped the team’s offseason program at The Star and didn’t report to Southern California for training camp.
He’ll rejoin his teammates soon.
Here’s what we know about Lamb’s new extension:

Lamb cemented his status as an elite wide receiver the past two seasons.
Now, he is being paid like one.
The Dallas Cowboys secured Lamb to a four-year contract extension worth $136 million ($100 million guaranteed), a person familiar with the deal told The Dallas Morning News on Monday.
It’s the first agreement of the franchise’s big three. With Lamb done, next is quarterback Dak Prescott followed by edge rusher Micah Parsons. Parsons’ deal won’t occur until next year with the Cowboys’ most pressing needs being Lamb and Prescott, who enters the final year of his contract.
The Cowboys wide receiver isn’t the first Dallas player to successfully land a new deal after a training camp holdout.
Before Lamb, notable players like Ezekiel Elliott and Zack Martin played similar cards. Elliott successfully landed a six-year, $90 million deal after staying away from camp, while Martin secured a restructured contract that added $8.5 million to his salary total.
Lamb’s holdout wasn’t entirely surprising. He missed Dallas’ entire offseason program, but kept in touch with Dak Prescott (who also seeks a new deal) and other teammates.
As part of his holdout, Lamb was subject to fines totaling $50,000 per day. The team has the right to rescind the fines.
