Cowboys injury updates: CeeDee Lamb misses practice, Mazi Smith’s early exit and more

Cornerback Trevon Diggs also missed Wednesday’s practice with a foot injury.

FRISCO – The Cowboys listed 12 players on their injury report Wednesday, with three starters missing practice.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs (foot), wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and defensive tackle Mazi Smith (back) were the missing starters. Smith left during the early portion of practice with head athletic trainer Jim Maurer.

Tight end Jake Ferguson, who missed last Sunday’s game against the Saints with a sprained left knee ligament, returned to practice as a limited participant. Ferguson wore a knee sleeve during the open access period to practice for the media.

Receiver Brandin Cooks, guard Zack Martin, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, cornerback Jourdan Lewis and linebacker Eric Kendricks were given a rest day, which is custom for veteran players.

Safety Malik Hooker (shoulder) and tight end John Stephens were limited in practice.

Defensive end Marshawn Kneeland (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He was limited in practice last week but played 18 snaps against the Saints.
