Did poor practice week contribute to Dallas Cowboys’ issues vs. Baltimore Ravens?

Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott discussed preparation after Dallas’ latest loss.

ARLINGTON — Maybe the slow start from the Cowboys’ offense and defense can be attributed to a poor practice week.

Coach Mike McCarthy made mention of it following a 28-25 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.

“Our practice — sometimes your preparation is really good and you don’t play as well as you would like, and there’s times when your preparation is not very good and you play better than you thought,” McCarthy said. “I think clearly this week our preparation was pretty much in line with the way we played.”

The Cowboys trailed 21-6 at halftime, allowing scores on three first-half possessions. Yet, a 19-point fourth quarter got the Cowboys back in the game.

Quarterback Dak Prescott said a poor Thursday practice had him speaking with his head coach about it.

“I’ll start with myself,” Prescott said. “I didn’t have a great practice, I believe it was Thursday. I even told coach that I feel better when it’s me. I can control it. I can get over it. I’ll make that change and that difference. It’s also a sense of gotta make sure other people are doing what they should be doing. Make sure other people aren’t dwelling on a bad practice rep, myself included.”
