Dallas Cowboys sign defensive end from Cincinnati Bengals practice squad

With Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence sidelined, the Cowboys have signed KJ Henry to the active roster.

The Dallas Cowboys have added to their defensive front.

With both Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence sidelined with injuries suffered in last week’s win over the New York Giants, the Cowboys have signed defensive end KJ Henry to the active roster from the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad, a person familiar with the transaction told The Dallas Morning News. The deal is reportedly two years in length.

To make room for Henry on the 53-man roster, Lawrence was placed on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games.

Henry was a fifth-round draft pick in 2023 out of Clemson, going 137th overall to the Washington Commanders. He was released from his rookie contract prior to the start of the 2024 season.

Cincinnati would claim him off waivers and used him in a limited basis for the first two weeks of the season. He has not appeared in a game since Sept. 15 after the Bengals waived him before re-signing him to their practice squad.

Henry appeared to confirm the news Tuesday morning, posting a series of cowboy emojis on his X account.

In 12 career games between Washington and Cincinnati, Henry has 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
