The 19-year old was tabbed to represent the U.S. at the 2024 Paris Olympics after a quick ascension to soccer stardom. She became the second-youngest person ever to play in the NWSL when she took the pitch for the San Diego Wave on July 22, 2022, and after scoring the game-winner, set another record as the youngest player to score in their debut.

She has played on various junior teams, and got her first call up to the senior team last September. She also competed for the USWNT that won this year’s 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup. She scored four goals in six games and earned the Golden Ball, given to the best player of the tournament. Shaw played youth soccer for FC Dallas and Solar Soccer Club.

It is unclear what her return from injury timeline looks like and whether she will be available for the U.S.’s future group-stage matches against Germany on July 28 and Australia on July 31.
