Scottie Scheffler headlines U.S. Presidents Cup team’s automatic qualifiers

Scheffler is joined by Xander Schauffele, who won both the PGA Championship and British Open this summer.

The automatic qualification period for the United States and International teams in the Presidents Cup came to an end on Sunday afternoon with the BMW Championship.

The top six golfers on each side in the FedEx Cup standings or Official World Golf Rankings were given an automatic bid for their respective teams. After next weekend’s Tour Championship, the two captains will make their six selections to complete the 12-golfer rosters that will compete at Royal Montreal.

Scottie Scheffler is headlining the U.S. side of things, based on FedEx Cup points. It’s yet another bullet point on an incredible list of achievements for Scheffler in 2024. He won six times on Tour, including the Masters, and took gold at the Olympics for the U.S.
