Mavericks center Willie Cauley-Stein probable to return vs. Spurs

Cauley-Stein has missed the last 12 games, the longest stretch among the five other Mavs who have been on the health and safety protocols list this season.

Saturday’s injury report included a positive development. Center Willie Cauley-Stein, who has been out since March 18 while on the health and safety protcols list, is probable for Sunday’s game.

Cauley-Stein, 27, has played in 35 games this season, starting 11 of them.

He has missed the last 12 games, the longest stretch among the five other Mavericks who have been on the health and safety protocols list this season.

Maxi Kleber missed 11 games after testing positive for COVID-19 the second week of January. Josh Richardson and Dorian Finney-Smith missed nine games apiece after contracting the virus. Dwight Powell also tested positive and missed eight games.

Listed as out for Sunday’s San Antonio game are Redick (right heel soreness) and Tyrell Terry (personal reasons). Starting forward Kleber is listed as questionable because of lower right leg soreness.
