Mavericks center Christian Wood has been downgraded to out for Saturday’s game vs. the Knicks after initially being listed as questionable.

Coach Jason Kidd says center Javale McGee will fill his role in the rotation.

Wood was questionable with illness vs. the Pistons on Thursday, but ended up playing 35 minutes in the overtime loss. He totaled 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists on 10 of 13 shots.

Kidd said rookie Jaden Hardy might also have a chance to fill minutes in Wood’s absence. Hardy has averaged 29 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in the G-League this season.
