Bally Sports Southwest update: Mavericks, Stars, Rangers games streaming on FuboTV soon

Sinclair’s new deal will increase Dallas-area access to BSSW broadcasts — but at a price to current viewers.

Local Dallas sports fans will soon have a new streaming option to watch Mavericks, Stars and Rangers broadcasts on Bally Sports Southwest — though at a higher price for FuboTV viewers.

FuboTV and Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns the Bally Sports regional sports networks, have agreed to a new carriage deal, a rare return of the local channels to a mainstream streaming service after years of decreased access and stalemate negotiations between Sinclair and most popular platforms.

Bally Sports channels will launch on FuboTV “in the coming weeks,” a company spokesman told media website The TV Answer Man.

The new offerings will come at a cost to FuboTV customers, starting in February.

DirecTV Stream, the only other independent streaming option that carries Bally Sports Southwest, currently offers regional sports networks in subscriptions starting at $89.99 a month before taxes. The platform announced on its website that the monthly price will increase $10 (to $99.99 a month before taxes) on Jan. 22.

Sinclair also debuted the single-channel Bally Sports+ subscription this fall to allow viewers access their local RSN for $19.99 a month, or $189.99 annually before taxes.
