Tim Hardaway Jr. (illness) available for Mavericks’ road game vs. Hornets

Dallas has gone 1-8 without Hardaway this season.

Update: This story has been updated to reflect Hardaway's status changing from probable to available.

One of the Mavericks’ key role players will be ready to go for the team’s next road challenge against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

The team listed Tim Hardaway Jr. (non-Covid illness) as available for their noon matchup on the road Sunday morning. Hardaway’s recent absence had a large impact on the Mavericks, as they fell against the Golden State Warriors and the injury-ravaged Hornets in consecutive games.

Hardaway was upgraded to probable Saturday.

Dallas has gone 1-8 without Hardaway this season, securing its only victory without the veteran guard against the San Antonio Spurs on March 15.

Kyrie Irving (right foot soreness) wasn’t listed on the injury report for the first time in two weeks. The Mavericks and Hornets will face off for the second time in three days, where Dallas will look to build momentum as the regular season comes to a close.

Friday was the first time since March 8 that the superstar duo of Irving and Luka Doncic has played together. The team owns a 3-7 record when Irving and Doncic are on the court together.

Hardaway’s latest showing with the Mavericks saw him go 1-for-4 from the floor with two steals and three rebounds in a 112-108 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
