Doncic shared a post from his Instagram on Thursday of himself sitting in a barber chair with an apparent new look.
The fresh cut appeared to show Doncic with a bold new hairline, one that we now know was actually a photo of a half-finished product. At the time though, with nothing but Doncic’s photo for context, the internet firestorm kicked into high gear, with even fellow Dallas sports star Micah Parsons weighing in on the cut.

As it turns out, Luka’s barber knew what he was doing. Doncic posted another photo of what was the completed haircut a short time later, a respectable and even sharp-looking cut after the hairline in question was blended properly:

Perhaps the Mavericks’ roster — in a bit of a “first Luka haircut photo” phase right now — will come together just as nicely over the course of the offseason.
The following day, Doncic was trending on Instagram for a different reason after he shared a clip his Slovenian trainer, Anže Maček, posted of the Mavericks guard running up a set of stairs during a workout.
