See where Mavericks’ Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving landed in NBA 2k24 ratings

The Mavericks might have the strongest backcourt in the game.

We’re talking about the pinnacle of professional basketball here. It’s not NBA championships. It’s not MVP awards or All-NBA selections.

This is NBA 2K ratings.

Jokes aside, it’s that time of the year. NBA 2k24 released its overall player ratings for the upcoming game, which launches Sept. 8. The Mavericks had a strong showing at the top, featuring one of the more formidable backcourts in the league.

Mavericks superstar and poster boy Luka Doncic received a 95 rating, which was good enough for seventh-best in the game behind Joel Embiid, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic. This was the same rating Doncic had a year ago, with the same six players above him.

Kyrie Irving came in at a 91 overall. The Mavericks were the only team to have two top-10 guards in the game.

As a team, the Mavericks received an overall rating of 82. Their two worst areas were defense and rebounding. Sound familiar?

Well, rookies Dereck Lively II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper don’t have ratings yet, so take a deep breath.

We all know video games translate directly to actual basketball. Well, maybe not. But Doncic drops video game numbers on a nightly basis.
