Kyrie Irving, Mavs react to Luka Doncic’s 73-point game: ‘I need a little more swag, bro’

The Mavericks’ star needs to “give a little something to the camera” after his record-breaking performance vs. Atlanta, Irving told Doncic.

Luka Doncic’s record-breaking 73-point performance in Friday night’s Mavericks win over the Atlanta Hawks had Mavs fans and the NBA world alike in a frenzy.

Behind the scenes, Doncic’s teammates appeared to be just as thrilled.

As Doncic exited the State Farm Arena floor after leading the Mavs to a 148-143 win over the Hawks and walked down into the tunnel, he was almost immediately greeted by teammate Kyrie Irving, in street clothes after missing his second straight game. Irving congratulated Doncic, but had some words of advice as well:

Or with:

“You gotta give the camera something, bro,” Irving said as Doncic, followed by a cameraperson he was largely ignoring, made his way back to the Mavs locker room. “You don’t just score 73 and don’t give the camera nothing. I need a little more swag, bro.”

Doncic offered a half-hearted “Amazing” to the camera with a thumbs-up, then added, understandably, “I’m too tired, man.”

Once Doncic reached the locker room, he was met with a faceful of water from his teammates, drenching the Mavericks star in celebration of his stellar performance.
