After Sunday night’s Game 2 at TD Garden, Doncic denied having a back-and-forth with Celtics governor Wyc Grousbeck. Several on-site reporters claimed Doncic exchanged a few words with Grousbeck at various points in the matchup.

According to ESPN’s Marc Spears, Grousbeck drew the ire of Doncic by directing a technical foul gesture at the Mavs guard. Early in the third quarter, Doncic could be seen jawing at a courtside spectator after drilling a one-legged fadeaway jumper.

When asked about the exchange after Dallas’ 105-98 loss, Doncic denied having any interaction with Grousbeck.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know who is the Celtics’ owner,” Doncic said.

Despite a 32-point triple-double from Doncic, the Mavericks couldn’t steal a road victory to even up the NBA Finals. Doncic was an efficient 12-for-21 from the floor, nailing 4-of-9 3-point attempts to pace his team.
