Mavericks exercise third-year options for Dereck Lively II, Olivier-Maxence Prosper

Both players enter their second season with the Mavericks.

The Mavericks announced Wednesday that they have exercised their third-year rookie scale options on Dereck Lively II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper.

Lively, the 10th overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, earned All-Rookie Second Team honors last season and he’s expected to be a pivotal piece in the Mavericks’ hopes to return to the NBA Finals. Lively appeared in 55 games (42 starts) as a rookie, averaging 8.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.4 blocks.

He will earn $5.2 million in 2025-26 and if the Mavericks’ exercise their team option for a fourth season, Lively will earn $7.2 million in the final year of his rookie contract. Prosper will earn $3 million in 2025-26, and an additional $5.2 million if his fourth year is exercised.
