National reaction to OU-Texas Tech: Loss highlights ‘general craziness’ of Big 12 in 2022

The Sooners were unable to escape Lubbock with a victory, dropping their sixth game of the season and falling to 8th in the conference.

With its 51-48 loss to Texas Tech Saturday in Lubbock, Oklahoma (6-6, 3-6) finished a regular season without a winning record for the first time since 1998.

After getting out to a 24-6 lead, they were outscored 45-24 the rest of the way en route to the loss. Dillon Gabriel threw for a season-high 444 yards and a career-high six touchdowns in the losing effort.
