North Texas esports powerhouse Envy Gaming coordinating winter storm relief charity stream

The Twitch stream, titled UNITED FOR TEXAS, will start Friday and run through Sunday.

Millions of Texans were left without power and water in freezing temperatures last week, and now Envy Gaming is working to raise money in relief, calling it UNITED FOR TEXAS.

Envy, one of North Texas’ powerhouse esports organizations that is the parent company of the Dallas Fuel and Dallas Empire, coordinated a three-day charity stream from Feb. 26-28, the team announced Thursday morning.

“There are a lot of people that need help right now in Texas and a lot of people asking, ‘How can I help?’ Gaming and streaming have always been a way to connect communities on so many different levels and it’s important for us all to step up when our fellow Texans are in need,” Envy owner and Texas native Mike Rufail said in a release.
