Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has partnered with Belong Gaming Arenas to benefit students who compete in the district’s esports program.
With more than 250 student esports players in the district, the new partnership will “provide students with dedicated practice and competition space for competitive gaming,” Belong Gaming Arenas said in a news release.
Belong Gaming Arenas has more than 30 gaming centers, mostly in the United Kingdom, where the company is based. But it plans on opening 500 more in the U.S. over the next several years. Its Grapevine Mills location, which opened in October, was the second to open in the nation.
The Grapevine location is also the home arena for the Grapevine Guards — an amateur esports team that competes against teams from other cities in the Belong Gaming network.
The new partnership gives students access to high-quality gaming equipment and lets the district expand its esports team.
