Asian-American soccer tournament returns to Garland for its third year

The tournament includes 36 teams from 14 states and Canada.

North Texas’ third annual Asian-American soccer tournament is scheduled for July 9 and 10 at Winters Park in Garland.

It is the largest Asian-American soccer tournament in the U.S., according to Visit Garland, and includes 36 teams from 14 states and Canada. The tournament is hosted by the Vietnam United FC of Garland.

The inaugural event was in 2019. It was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic.

The event has categories for teams with players over 18 and over 40, with cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $2,000.
