Rangers promote Cole Winn, Davis Wendzel and Sam Huff to Triple-A Round Rock

The trio has missed significant time this season.

With the Double-A season completed, the Rangers have promoted a trio of top prospects, all of whom missed significant time this season, to Triple-A Round Rock to try to round out their experience for the year.

Right-hander Cole Winn, who missed a month in COVID-19 protocols and was limited to 78 innings at Double-A, was scheduled to start Thursday’s game against Tacoma. Infielder Davis Wendzel and catcher Sam Huff, both of whom got less than 250 at-bats this season due to injuries, also went to Round Rock.

Huff has not caught this year because of a knee injury but is expected to catch in the instructional league.
