‘It’s the Chris Young show’: National reaction to Texas Rangers’ firing of Jon Daniels

Young “will assume oversight of all aspects of the Rangers’ baseball operations department,” the team said in a release.

The top of the Texas Rangers’ organization looks a lot different than it did a few days ago.

The Rangers announced Wednesday that they have parted ways with team president Jon Daniels as the team is in the midst of its sixth straight losing season. The announcement came just two days after manager Chris Woodward was fired.

Chris Young, the team’s executive vice president and general manager, “will assume oversight of all aspects of the Rangers’ baseball operations department,” the team said in a release.

Here are some of the reactions from around the nation.
