Watch: Queen’s Brian May rocks Rangers jersey, plays ‘We Are the Champions’ at AAC concert

The legendary band just so happened to be performing in town the night after the Rangers won their first World Series.

Sometimes an opportunity’s just too good to pass up.

Legendary rock band Queen, in the midst of its Rhapsody Tour that includes another stint through North America, is in Dallas to play two nights at American Airlines Center. The stars aligned to bring the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band to town the night after the Texas Rangers won their first World Series championship.

Queen and lead guitarist Brian May, apparently, are aware of the Rangers’ big night.

As part of the encore to the Thursday night show, May reentered the stage donned in a white Texas Rangers jersey, and he and the band proceeded to belt out their classic hit “We Are The Champions.” The packed house at AAC was receptive, to say the least.

For some it might stir up memories of a wildly off-key Dirk Nowitzki serenading Mavericks fans from the AAC balcony after the Mavericks won the NBA championship in 2011.

If you’re planning on attending Friday’s Rangers championship parade, chances are you’ll be hearing this song again — and probably during Queen’s second show at AAC on Friday night.
