Watch: Texas Rangers legend Nolan Ryan congratulates team on first World Series title

Ryan spent five seasons pitching with the Rangers but never made the playoffs with Texas.

Texas Rangers legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan and wife Ruth Ryan have offered up their congratulations to the 2023 World Series champions.

In a video posted from the Round Rock Express social media account, the Ryans offered a ‘way to go’ to the first-time winners. Nolan along with his son Reid Ryan make up part of the Express ownership group.

“Congratulations to the Texas Rangers on a big win,” Nolan said. “World champions.”

“From the Nolan Ryan Foundation and the Round Rock Express, way to go Rangers,” Ruth added. “We’re really proud.”

“My parents watched every pitch,” Reid Ryan said in a reply/quote of the Express’ video post. “Wish they could have been there in person.”

Nolan, a Hall of Famer, played for the Rangers for five seasons and appeared in 129 games. Despite the Rangers finishing with a winning record in four of the five seasons he spent pitching in Arlington, Ryan never made the playoffs with Texas.
