Texas Rangers 3B Josh Jung, RHP Josh Sborz begin rehab assignments in Round Rock

Jung went 2 of 3, while Sborz allowed two hits and two runs in 2/3 of an inning in the Express’ Sunday game against the Tacoma Rainiers.

Josh Jung, out since the first week of the season due to a fractured wrist, officially began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

Jung played third base and batted second for Round Rock against the Tacoma Rainiers of the Mariners organization. Manager Bruce Bochy said Jung would take about 30 at-bats on rehab, though “it could be less, it could be more.”

Also, right-hander Josh Sborz was officially activated at Round Rock to begin his rehab assignment Sunday. Sborz was expected to pitch more than one time before he is activated from a second stint on the IL due to a rotator cuff strain.
