North Texas is gearing up for this year’s MLB All-Star festivities. Along with the actual All-Star Game, baseball fans can look forward to the newest iteration of the Home Run Derby.

Shortly after new rules for the Derby were announced Sunday, a rising Baltimore star revealed he had committed to compete in this year’s event, with more sluggers joining in as the days rolled by. The Home Run Derby is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 15 at Globe Life Field.

Which batters are competing for home run bragging rights? Below, we’ll keep track of the competitors joining the Derby field:

There will be Ranger representation at the 2024 Derby.

Adolis Garcia will participate in the event for the second straight year, the only member of the eight-player field who wasn’t named to the All-Star rosters.

Garcia has hit just 17 home runs thus far in 2024, off pace from last year’s 39, but hey: As we saw last October, El Bombi can do some pretty magical things with the Globe Life Field crowd behind him.

The Kansas City Royals shortstop announced his inclusion in this year’s event via social media on Monday.

“See you all in Texas,” he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Witt Jr. is hitting .324 with 15 home runs this year, and is the son of former Rangers player Bobby Witt.
