If you’ve ever wondered who the “Mount Rushmore” of the Texas Rangers are, the four who stood at the pitcher’s mound shortly before the start of the 2024 MLB All-Star Game would be a good starting point.
Rangers’ icon and soon-to-be Hall of Famer Adrian Beltre fired the first pitch prior to the Summer Classic at Globe Life Field in Arlington, but he wasn’t the only Ranger icon, or the only Hall of Famer, to take the field prior to the game.
Beltre, after being wheeled onto the field in a horse-drawn stagecoach, was joined by former catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez and former pitchers Ferguson Jenkins and Nolan Ryan. All three have already been inducted into the Hall. Rodriguez, naturally, received Beltre’s first pitch from behind home plate.

The foursome has 2,931 combined games played in a Texas Rangers uniform between them. Beltre will be the last of them welcomed into the Hall of Fame, set to be inducted on July 21. He will be wearing a Texas Rangers baseball cap on his Hall of Fame plaque.
