SMU basketball coach Tim Jankovich tests positive for COVID-19

Jankovich tested negative on Sunday, but his test on Monday came back positive.

SMU basketball coach Tim Jankovich has tested positive for COVID-19, after first developing symptoms on Thursday evening. Jankovich, who did not coach the team on Saturday, has not had close contact with any players, per the program. Thus, the Mustangs’ games this week have not yet been announced as postponements.

Additionally, assistant coach Jay Duncan and player development coach Nemanja Jovanovic will not travel with the team, as they were deemed close contacts of Jankovic.

Jankovic had a fever, as well as a cough. He tested negative in two rapid tests following the onset of symptoms. His PCR test on Sunday came back negative. But on Monday, he received a positive test.
