Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger will make second straight start vs. Oilers

Oettinger is coming off a 35-save effort during a win over St. Louis on Saturday.

Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger will start his second straight game when he faces Edmonton on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center.

Oettinger is coming off a 35-save effort during a win over St. Louis on Saturday, and has a .955 save percentage and 1.43 goals against average. It will be his third start in the team’s last four games.

It will be Oettinger’s first start against Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and the Oilers’ top-ranked power play.

“He’s looked totally under control,” Stars goaltender Braden Holtby said after practice Monday. “When you can play that way, your team really responds to that, you can tell. He’s put confidence in our group and it’s great to watch. Extremely talented kid that works hard and got a great demeanor.”
