Back as Stars’ top-line center, Roope Hintz scores 100th career goal vs. Devils

Hintz had been easing his way back into the lineup, but rejoined the top-line vs. the Devils.

After easing his way back into the lineup after a multi-week absence with an upper body injury, Roope Hintz started the game back in his old spot as the top-line center.

Tyler Seguin had maintained his spot on the first line the past two games but Hintz did replace on the line by the end of both games. Seguin moved to a right wing spot on a line with Mason Marchment and Radek Faksa.

Hintz’s power play goal was the 100th of his career. He achieved the mark in 282 games. There are now five Stars players with 100 or more career goals: Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Ryan Suter.

Dallas plays again on Feb. 6: The Stars will not play again until next month as the team has 10 off days. Their next game is against the Ducks and a returning John Klingberg on Feb. 6. Barring anything unexpected, it will be Benn’s 1000th career game. The captain will become the second player in franchise history to have played in at least 1,000 games with the team.
