Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen makes franchise history vs. Penguins

Heiskanen’s streak continues after he earned his 12th straight game with a point.

Joe Pavelski had nice touch with his late goal against the Penguins on Thursday, but it was also a significant moment in Stars history.

With his third-period assist, Stars defensemen Miro Heiskanen set a franchise record for the lengthiest points streak for a defenseman.

Heiskanen has notched a point in 12 consecutive contests, one more than Craig Hartsburg’s 11-game streak in 1986 for the Minnesota North Stars. The 23-year-old blueliner has four goals and 16 assists during his 12-game streak.

Heiskanen entered Thursday with the fourth-most points among all NHL players in the month of March behind Oilers forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and Coyotes forward Clayton Keller.
